Jeannie Baca of Ivyland, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 58.
Jeannie was the beloved wife of 35 years to Bob Baca.
Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen Murtaugh Reddin.
Jeannie graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and also earned a Master’s in Nursing Education from St. Joseph’s University.
Jeannie fulfilled her dream as her first job out of college was at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her infectious smile and unparalleled compassion and dedication for helping children led her to make a difference in countless lives. She went on to also work in the Pediatric Departments at Thomas Jefferson University and St. Mary’s Hospitals.
When Jeannie wasn’t working, she could always be found in the hallways of her children’s schools, most specifically Churchville Elementary, where she annually made over 600 costumes for the school play and was a lifelong homeroom mom. It was not uncommon for Jeannie to be mistaken for a teacher due to her constant volunteering.
In Jeannie’s nine-year battle with cancer, her gorgeous blue eyes, her exceptional positive demeanor, and her love for her family, cookies, and crab cakes always remained.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Jeannie is survived by her three children: Jessica, of Chicago, Chris, of Boston, and Caroline, of New York City. She is also survived by her brother John Reddin and her sisters Vicki Malanga and Barbara Eacuvetto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday May 9th and from 8:30-10:00am on Saturday May 10th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and to her Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road Richboro, PA 18954.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3400 Civic Center Blvd., Phila., PA 19104.
