Barbara Duelfer Barnett, of Warminster, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 71.
Barbara was the beloved wife of 50 years to John E. Barnett. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Minerva Williams Duelfer.
Barbara worked at Centennial School District for 30 years and will be best remembered for her role as Librarian Assistant at William Tennent High School. She had a passion for reading and loved working with people. She was born with an innate talent for arts and crafts including drawing, macramé, and making clothing and costumes for her children. Barbara was active with the Tai Chi group at the Northampton Township Community Center and was a Patron of the Welsh Guild as well as a supporter of the Warminster Symphony.
In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening, caring for backyard wildlife, and traveling. Above all, Barbara cherished every moment she spent with her family and close friends. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by everyone whose life she touched.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters: Anne Barnett of Horsham and Eve Barnett and her husband Michael Barndt of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her sisters Susan Lazzaro and Lynn Nicholson and her husband, Mayer Nicholson, her niece Jamy Nicholson Friend and husband Bill Friend, and her nephew Domenico Lazzaro and his wife Myra Lazzaro.
Barbara’s family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, from 12 Noon until 1pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. A brief Celebration of Life memorial will follow for those who wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Warminster Township Public Library, 1076 Emma Lane Warminster, PA 18974.
