Mary Jane Stevenson, of Newtown, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 65.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Mary Jane was the beloved wife of William L. “Bill” Stevenson for the past 10 years; she was the daughter of the late Earle and Mary Lough Barnes.

Mary Jane was raised in Morris Plains, NJ and was a graduate of Parsippany High School, class of 1968. Her professional career spanned forty years working as Administrative Assistant for the owner of Chesapeake Tech Labs in Huntingdon Valley.

Mary Jane loved to be creative and especially around the holidays her cooking and floral arrangements and decorations were admired by all.

She and her husband enjoyed the mountains of Luzerne County, the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and the salt air of the Jersey shore. Mary Jane and Bill loved boating and together they traveled for over 4 months on their boat to the islands in the Caribbean. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted family and grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by family and their spouses William L. Stevenson Jr., and his wife Doreen, Scott A. Stevenson and his fiancé Mandie Pue, Michelle E. Asheuer and her husband Al, a step son James Christensen and his wife Pamela, her sister Elizabeth L. "Betty " Knutson and her husband Earl. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Thursday evening October 6, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday October 7, from 9:30am until her Funeral Services 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. Interment will be Private.
