Elizabeth F. “Libby” Kenderdine Rook of Ivyland, died peacefully on Wednesday September 28, 2016, at her home. She was 95.
Elizabeth was born in Langhorne on the Kenderdine family farm; she was the beloved wife of the late J. Walter Rook to whom she was married to for 65 years, daughter of the late Daniel and Emma Cummins Kenderdine and sister of the late Marjorie Linton.
“Libby” as she was know to many worked along side her late husband on the farm in Ivyland, which has been in the Rook family for over 6 generations and still produces today. She was a graduate of Richboro High School, class of 1939.
Libby was proud to be called a farmer; she cherished her time spent working with her husband and 4 sons and not a day went by that when the Rook men came in after a long day, supper was always ready. A woman of faith, Libby was a life long member of Addisville Reformed Church in Richboro. She was a Deacon on the Consistory at Addisville Reformed Church and was the First Woman Elder and she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. Church and farming have been a major part of her life; she ran the kitchen at Addisville for most all of the events held in fellowship hall and traveled on several mission trips through the years. She will be sadly missed by her devoted family and many friends.
Libby is survived by her four sons and their spouses; Robert J. Rook, William R. and Kathy R. Rook, Benjamin A. and Valerie Rook and Barry C. and Theresa Rook all of Ivyland, she is also survived by her dear 8 grandchildren; Kimberly and Richard Capaldi, Sheri and Brian Omlor, Tammy and Kevin Carbone, Bethanne Rook, Benjamin J. Rook, Ethan and Sarah Rook, Ashley Rook and Andrew Rook and 5 great grandchildren; Kyle, Dylan, Connor, Ethan Jr. and Owen. Libby is also survived by her brother Kenny and Ann Kenderdine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Sunday evening October 2nd from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd.
