Thomas D. McDevitt, Jr. of Richboro passed away on Monday, September 26. He was 32.
Born in Philadelphia, he is the son of Thomas D. and Mary Frances Cole McDevitt.
A long-time resident of Richboro, he graduated from Council Rock South in 2003, where he played football. He also graduated from Holy Family University in 2010, with a degree in Public Relations. His smile and energy lit up the room. Devoted to his family, he enjoyed fishing with his father in Ocean Pines, MD and loved creating lifelong memories with his daughter, Ella. He enjoyed science fiction books, landscaping and gardening, and playing basketball and baseball with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is survived by the love of his life, Ashley London and his beloved daughter Ella McDevitt. He also leaves behind his brothers, Frankie and Matthew McDevitt; his sister, Mary Kate McDevitt; his grandmother, Mary Cole; his aunt, Patricia Guarnett and husband Neil; and his uncles, Francis Cole, and wife Eleanor; Joseph Cole and wife Rose; James McDevitt and wife Marilyn; Edward McDevitt and wife Irene; and Michael McDevitt. He will be missed by his many cousins and friends.
Friends are invited to gather and greet Thomas’ family Friday, September 30, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd), Richboro, PA 18954. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd, Holland, PA 18966.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Thomas’ name may be made to Drexel College of Medicine- National Institute of Drug Abuse Center of Excellence, at P.O Box 8235, Philadelphia, PA 19101-9685. Donations can also be made at giving.drexel.edu.
