Laurence Frederick Haemer (Larry) passed away September 19th in Langhorne PA at age 98. He was born in Brooklyn New York to Franny Rose (Christman) and Frederick William Haemer on December 31, 1917. He attended Richmond High School.

On September 20, 1941, Larry married Margaret Helmer Budd in Brooklyn New York. During WWII, Larry served in the US Army Signal Corp processing photographs in the European Theater. He contributed memories of his service to Rutgers University’s Oral History Archives.

Following the War, he graduated Magnum Cum Laude from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, then worked as chemical engineer and material scientist in resilient flooring companies including Kentile, American Biltrite, Vinyl Plastics, and Congoleum. He earned 16 patents, including "Slick" an artificial ice skating surface. He was active in the American Chemical Society's Rubber Group and was a Fellow of the American Society for Testing Materials.

Larry was an avid vegetable gardener and enjoyed classical music. His other hobbies included photography, electronics, traveling, reading and cooking.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Budd Haemer, daughter Dorothy Margaret Jabarin and great-granddaughter Kathleen Rose Haemer. He is survived by daughter Frances Linick, sons Fred and Budd, grandchildren Annissa Hammoud, Nadia Wenrick, Joseph, Matthew and Diana Haemer, Nabeel Jabarin and 18 great-grandchildren.
