James T. Curran of Quakertown passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his residence. He was 68.
He was the beloved husband of Dianna C. Campbell Curran for 26 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Mildred Miller Egner and brother of the late Millie Richardson.
Mr. Curran was a resident of Quakertown for the past 13 years and formerly lived in Willow Grove. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Jim was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Thirty years ago, Jim started his own business, Curran Insurance, a Nationwide Insurance Company, which is located in Hatboro. He was a quiet man with a generous nature and natural instinct to help those in need. In his leisure time, he was an avid reader and history was one of his favorite subjects. Being family oriented, he enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Kelly A. Lotsis and her husband, Kevin, of Perkasie, Brandi L. McLaughlin and her husband, Tom, of Philadelphia, his brother, William Egner of Lansdale, and two sisters, Ann Marie Fain of Orange, CA and Alice Wright of Hatfield. He is also survived by his five loving grandchildren; Kyle, Luke, Curran, Annie and Sayer.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.
Interment will take place at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931 or to St. Vincent’s Home, 1509 Church Street, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
