Julius G. Heinicke, Jr. of Upper Makefield passed away July 20, 2016 in his 78th year. “Jay” was best known as the co-owner of Ivyland-based Deming Pump Service, one of the nation’s first swimming-pool service companies, where he worked on his first pool at fourteen.

Jay was an avid international traveler, early home-computer adopter and DIY enthusiast. A proud life-long Bucks County resident, he graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1956. He then served two years in the army at Fort Belvoir, Va., and was later called back into an additional year’s service.

He is missed by wife Ulla (Hellsén) and brother Gerald. He is also survived by sons Erik and Sven, daughter-in-law Daphne, grandchildren Zoe and Linus, as well as nephews and their children. Julius was the son of the late Julius, Sr. and Frances (Simmers) and born at home in Warwick Township.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 29 at 11 AM at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Rd., New Hope. Following the service friends and family are welcome to come together to share memories.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Thompson at TMPC.org or any charity of the donor’s choice.
