Ronald Joseph Scipione (“Skip”), 71, succumbed to his long-term battle with the ill effects from cancer treatments received eleven years ago on his head and neck. He passed away on July 11, 2016 at his mountain home, where he found solace and peace.

Ronald was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a carpenter, electrician, metalworker, plumber, policeman, and served as a sergeant in the US Marine Corps—just to name a few. Above all else, he gave true meaning to the term “family man”. He was born in Portage, PA. He is preceded in death by his father, Ted Scipione, and mother, Louise Scipione, as well as his sister, Barbara Benduga. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Draybk), three children, including Ronald J. Scipione, Dawn Eck, and Vincent Scipione, two grandchildren, Connor and Michael Eck, his sister, Antoinette Ranochak, as well as extended family including daughter-in-law, Chelsea Zlotnick.

Ronald was a very simple, humble, and selfless man with a strong dedication towards his values and beliefs. He was never afraid to speak his mind. He was a provider to his family, and a lover of nature. While he was very skilled at his work, his true passion was the outdoors. He was an avid hunter. Despite his struggle with pain management in the last year or so, Ronald had provided his family with the gift of a wonderful mountain home in central Pennsylvania, which he worked so very hard to restore. His legacy will live on with this home.

Full of knowledge and wit, he will truly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and to his Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 16, 2016, 10:00AM at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
