Robert C. Reid of Morrisville and formerly of Philadelphia died peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Brookside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Roslyn, PA. He was 84.
He was the beloved husband of the Late Rachael M. Formato Reid.
Born in Philadelphia, Robert was the son of the late John H. and Mary M. Cromar Reid.
Robert was a graduate of the old Northeast High School in Philadelphia and a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force who served during the Korean Conflict and a retired member of the Philadelphia Police Department. Robert worked for many years before his retirement in 1981 with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit and Organized Crime Division. Robert was also a Private Investigator after his retirement from the police force. He was an active member and supporter of the Fraternal Order of Police. Robert loved to spend time at family events and watching soccer. He loved to go fishing and hunting with his sons, family and friends and especially enjoyed his part ownership of his beloved hunting camp. Robert also loved all of his dogs that he cared for over the course of his life.
Robert is survived by his loving and devoted children: Deborah M. Reid of Morrisville, PA, Robert C. Reid Jr. and his wife Carol of Lumberton, NJ, Bruce Reid and his wife Mina of Lincoln, CA, and Christopher Reid and his wife Dalva of Jamison, PA. He is also survived by his Brother and sister-in-law Jack and Mary Reid and his 9 beloved grandchildren: Ashley Reid-Driessens (Jeff), Cameron (Alaura), Evan, Izabelle, Melissa, Todd, Isabella, Natalia, and Gavin Reid.
Robert’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 10:00 AM until his Memorial Service 12 Noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, Pa 18954. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.
In lieu of flowers contribution in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd. Suite 100 Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
