Vincent Peter Fucci, 74 of Solebury, PA, passed away on July 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Irene J. Scaffa Fucci; his devoted daughter, Kimberly and her husband, Eric; his grandson, Mason, and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his second grandson in August. He is also survived by his brother, Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He exhibited extraordinary courage and strength throughout his life particularly in recent months while battling his illness.

Born in February of 1942 to the late Peter and Elizabeth Fucci in Brooklyn, NY, Vincent graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School in 1960. In 1964, he enlisted in the US Army and served his country honorably for two years including a tour in Okinawa, Japan. He was an Expert Rifleman and was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as family and friends will attest.

In 1968, Vincent joined the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and served as a police officer for 21 years. He was a member of the Tactical Patrol Force, an elite unit tasked with patrolling New York City’s highest crime areas during peak crime hours and riot control. He went on to join the NYPD Task Force, a unit that was deployed to provide additional support during high risk situations throughout the city’s five boroughs. Vincent received several commendations including Police Officer of the Month for containing a gunman in a hostage situation and was entered into the Congressional Record for his valiant efforts to rescue a toddler from a vehicle submerged in frigid waters. He was also a member of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and NYPD Honor Legion.

Upon retiring from the NYPD, Vincent received his certification from the Gemological Institute of America and started Kimrin Jewelers specializing in diamond sales. He took great pride in his business and his success can be directly attributed to his work ethic.

In 1994, Vincent and his family relocated to bucolic Solebury, PA. He appreciated the rich history of Bucks County and found serenity in its beauty. He spent countless hours gardening, walking along the Delaware River, kayaking, visiting art galleries, antiquing, and sharing his home with family and friends.

Vincent’s family will receive condolences on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 11:00am until his Funeral Service at 12:30pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2:30pm.
