William Harry Meise Esq. of Wrightstown died Friday May 16, 2014 at his home. He was 77.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Meise was a former resident of Southampton before moving to Wrightstown in 1979. William was an electrical engineer and accomplished patent attorney. He served as Patent Counsel for RCA Corporation, General Electric Corporation, Lockheed Martin, and most recently the law firm of Duane Morris until he retired. An American Entrepreneur, Inventor and Author, William has had numerous patents issued in his name, including a “Compatible Wide-Screen Color Television System”, and an “Apparatus and Method for Detecting Stealth Aircraft”, he authored the book “In the Trenches: How to Prepare and Prosecute Patent Applications”. Bill received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology in 1964, where he was a member of Eta Kappa Nu Engineering Honor Society, then pursued his Jurist Doctorate from Temple University graduating in 1972. William was also a graduate of Glen Nor High School, Class of 1954. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 as a radar service engineer with a tour of duty in France. He will be interred with military honors.
Bill will be dearly missed by his wife, three daughters, a son, three step-children and ten grandchildren. He was the son of the late Robert F. Meise and Victorine Hambridge Meise and widower of the late Patricia S. Meise, he is survived by his wife of 7 years, Sigrid E Meise, his children; Cynthia M. Leon and her fiancé Paul E Jones III, Karla Meise and her husband Antonio Ferreira, Kevin P. Meise, Karen A. Lehmicke and her husband Michael, Bill’s step-children Dean Gutierrez (wife Denise), Sandy Gutierrez and Ricardo Angeloni. Also survived by his six grandchildren, Samuel A. and Charlotte A. Leon, William R., Emma E., and Abby C. Meise, Marcos L. Ferreira and his four step-grandchildren Ian and Gabriella Guiterrez, Hayden Lake and Rocky Angeloni.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 1:00pm until his Funeral Service 2:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.
Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery in Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of a donor’s choice.
