Rose Frances Bertolini of Newtown and formerly of Mamaroneck, New York and Boynton Beach, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Birches of Newtown. She was 96.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Bertolini.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine Rizzo Conti.

Rose spent much of her life in Mamaroneck, NY until retiring to Boynton Beach, FL with her husband. She absolutely flourished during her time in Florida. A talented bookkeeper for all of her life, she continued to volunteer her time and skills with St. Thomas More Church where she was a faithful parishioner for many years. She also served as treasurer for the Madonna Guild at the church as well as for the Elkettes and the local VFW Post 5335.

Rose had a passion for knitting and crocheting and enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends. She was energetic, full of life and a social butterfly. Her passion for life and love of her family was admired by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Rose’s family wishes to thank the staff and the many friends that Rose made during her time at the Birches of Newtown, a place that became very close to her heart over the last two years.  

Surviving are her son, Donald Bertolini and his wife, Maria, her eldest grandson, Andrew Bertolini and his wife, Lauren and younger grandson Matthew Bertolini.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Services and interment will be held in Boynton Beach, FL at a later date.
