Alfonse “Al” L. Krygier Jr., 72, of Doylestown (previously of Churchville), best friend and beloved husband of Eileen Dreher Krygier for 49 years, idolized father of Nanette Reed (husband Kenneth) and Erika Warner of Perkasie, was called to heaven on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the University of Pennsylvania hospital, surrounded by his adoring family. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. Alfonse L. Sr. and Genevieve Ziblinski Krygier and brother of Jean Rettig and the late Alice Denny. He is also survived and most notably known as the coolest DziaDzi (grandpop) to three grandchildren: Austin Reed, Rachel Reed and Drake Warner.
If you didn’t know Al, then you missed out on getting the best directions to anywhere you needed to go, a man who REALLY knew how to throw a party, views of landscaping and gardens that should have won awards, mouthwatering roasted corn on the 4th of July, Asplundh’s finest purchasing agent in the 70’s, paramount advice on how to fix anything and everything, the classiest truck driver for 35 years at Better Materials/Hanson Trucking, newscaster Jim Gardner’s doopelganger, great nights of dancing to Doo Whop, Oktoberfests with awesome childhood Somerton buddies, and the most beautiful blue eyes and smile you’ve ever seen.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for his viewing and to share wonderful memories on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954, and on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 10:00 am until his funeral Mass 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902. His interment will be at William Penn Cemetery, Philadelphia.
Contributions can be made to The Penn Medicine Friends Fund in memory of Al Krygier’s battle against Angiosacroma.
