Robert V. Albert, of Doylestown, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at his home. He was 87.
He was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Rosemary Rath Albert.
Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late August and Rachel Clabot Albert.
Bob as he was known was a resident of Doylestown area for the past 63 years. He was a graduate of Frankford High School, where he was All Scholastic, playing, baseball basketball and soccer. He attended LaSalle University, and then joined the United States Army and served in Germany.
Bob retired at the age of 85 after over 61 years as Vice President of Eureka Stone Quarry in Eureka. A man of few words and a friend to many; he dearly loved his family, especially his grandsons.
In his spare time he enjoyed singing at family gatherings, and watching old movies. Bob enjoyed the company of a long list of family pets and most recently spending time with his daughter Anne’s rescue dog. He looked forward to the NCAA March madness and was a supporter of Villanova basketball. He will be sadly missed by his family, nieces and nephews and his long time colleagues at Eureka Stone Quarry.
Bob is survived by his children; Rosemary L. Albert, Robert G. Albert, Anne A. Grant and her husband Warren and Thomas A. Albert. He is also survived by his 2 devoted grandsons, Robert J. and Paul Grant.
Bob’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 9:30 am until his Prayer Service 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA. Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Lenape Valley Foundation, 500 North West St. Doylestown, PA 18901.
