Geraldine “Gilda” Senica Ellis died peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Neshaminy Manor, Doylestown, PA.  She was 81.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Ellis.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Anna DiRuggiero and sister of the late Marie Grosso and Elizabeth Barone.  She was also predeceased by her former husband, the late Carl G. Senica.  

“Gilda”, as she was known to family and friends, was a resident of Warrington for the past 6 years and formerly lived in Doylestown for 16 years.  She graduated from Garfield High School in Garfield, NJ, Class of 1953.  For 25 years, she was employed as a secretary at the Bucks County Courthouse and was currently employed in the same position at Briarleaf Nursing Home in Doylestown for the past 25 years.  In her leisure time, Gilda was an avid reader and loved listening to music especially Frank Sinatra. Her family came first and foremost in her life.  She always enjoyed the special times spent with her children and grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria T. Loecker and her son, Michael G. Senica, both of Warrington, PA and her sister, Mildred Fiore of Bridgewater, NJ.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Justin Outten and his wife, Vanessa of Georgia, Ashley Newcomer and her husband, Joshua, of Texas and Cory Outten of Warrington, and her great granddaughter, Bella Outten.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.  Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Abington Hospital Home Care & Hospice, 2510 Maryland Road, Suite 250, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
