Dominick A. Vigilante of Richboro, PA died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, surrounded by his family at Chandler Hall Health Services, Newtown, PA. He was 88.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara Caprio Vigilante for 52 years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony and Carmela D’Amato Vigilante.
Mr. Vigilante was a resident of Richboro for the past two years. He formerly lived in Madison, New Jersey for 36 years. He graduated from Brooklyn College with his bachelor degree in Science. He proudly served our country during World War II in the Army. For many years, he was the owner and operator of a distributor for carpets.
His family came first and foremost and he always enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, Daniel P. Vigilante and his wife, Kenia, of Madison, NJ, Irene Marie Erckert and her husband, Joseph, of Newtown, PA and Paul G. Vigilante of Prescott, AZ. He is also survived by two sisters, Irene Santoro of Staten Island, NY, Lorraine Parisek of Morristown, NJ and his two grandchildren, John and Christina Erckert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Friday, May 23, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Richboro.
Interment with military honors will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
