Francis J. Rymdeika, of Dublin, PA died peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Grandview Hospital. He was 85.

Born in Abington, he was the beloved husband of the late Margaret A. Michel Rymdeika.

He was the only child of Frank J. and Josephine Ginkiewicz Rymdeika.

Frank lived his life in Dublin and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.  He graduated from Sellersville-Perkasie High School in 1949, and served in the Naval Reserves at Willow Grove for 8 years.  From 1956 to 1972 he was President of Graf-Rymdeika Auto Body, Doylestown, and was a past President of BuxMont Auto Body Association.  Then in 1975, Frank became the proprietor of Grates and Grills in Dublin and worked hard to build a good life for his family while simultaneously donating his time, talent and energy to the Dublin community.

Volunteering, public service, and politics were simply an extension of Frank and how he lived.  He was member of the Quakertown Moose for over 50 years, a volunteer and Life Member of the Dublin Fire company for over 50 years as well as the Bucks County Fireman’s Association, a Dublin Boro Police officer from 1967 to 1978, serving as President of the Bucks County Police Association from 1970 to 1973 and a Bucks County Constable for over 20 years.  He served as the Mayor of Dublin Boro from 1978 to 1986, was a Republican Committeeman for Dublin Boro from 1976 to 1980 and although unsuccessful, he ran for Bucks County Sherriff in 1972 on the Republican ballot.

The spotlight followed Frank throughout his life and he loved serving his community.  However, his true love was spending time with his family and friends barbecuing on his patio, hunting and escaping to the Poconos.

He is survived by his children; Nancy K. McGrath and her husband, Louis, of Coopersburg, Rev. Joseph F. Rymdeika, Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Horsham, Diane M. Brunner and her husband, Jon, of Sellersville, Thomas W. Rymdeika and his wife, Eileen, of Dublin, Daniel C. Rymdeika and his wife, Michele, of Dublin, and Christine E. Eden and her husband, Ben, of Pennsburg.  He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; Margaret, Emily, Kayleigh, Alexandra, William, Thomas, Samantha, Kathryn, Jessica, Olivia, Grace and Riley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, May 9, 2016, from 9:30 am until his Concelebrated Funeral Mass11:00 am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927.  Interment will take place at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Dublin Fire Company, 194 North Main Street, Dublin, PA 18917 or to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, P.O. Box 31, Hilltown, PA 18927.
