Eleanor M. Houser, of Richboro, died on Monday, April 11, 2016, at her home with her family, sister Carol, and brother in law, Butch Dutton by her side. She was 73.
She was the wife of the late Harry Houser.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen McLaughlin Bradley.
Eleanor moved to Richboro in 1962 with her parents and fell in love with the beauty of Bucks County. She spent a lot of time outdoors and vacationed at many of the National Parks. However, being at home and with her family was most important to her.
Taking care of her children was paramount to Eleanor. She was a loving and devoted mother to her family and worked tirelessly to give them a good home which sometimes required her to juggle several jobs at one time. For over 18 years she was the Office Manager at Northampton Manor, (now Brookdale Senior Living) in addition to working at Fireside Flowers in Richboro where she enjoyed friends and appreciating the beautiful flower arrangements that were created.
Eleanor was never one to keep still; she was constantly on the go. She enjoyed traveling, boats, bus trips, cruises, fishing and tending to her flowers. Yet, it was the time she spent with her grandchildren that meant the most to her. Her selfless giving and never-ending love will always be remembered and admired by her family.
She is survived by her children, John and Cynthia Wood of Warrington, Ronald and Peggy Wood of Camden, NC, Coleen and Michael Coleman of Chalfont, and Angie and David Rummler of Chalfont. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 9:30 am until her Funeral Mass 11:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Richboro.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Northampton Senior Center, 165 Township Road, Richboro, PA 18954.
