Mary Lou Nickles, 69, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Mary Lou was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa and was the daughter of the late Frank and Sara Barr Sheehy. Mary Lou was married to George Nickles for 40 years. In 1986, they moved to Langhorne, PA where they happily resided for the last 30 years.
Marylou was an accomplished executive assistant in the insurance profession for 20 years, until her retirement. She lived life to the fullest, bringing excitement and laughter to every moment. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will remain a true role model to her entire family. Mary Lou will be remembered for her strength, kindness and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband George, Mary Lou is survived by her three daughters; Tina Ryan of Glen Mills, Christina Ashmen and her husband Shawn of Cherry Hill and Lauren Nickles of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and her great grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to express their condolences on Friday, March 18th from 7:00-9:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Saturday, March 19th from 10:15am until her Funeral Mass at 11:15am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Mary Lou’s interment will follow at the Newtown Cemetery in Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
