William E. "Bill" Gruber
William E. Gruber of Rushland, PA died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA. He was 71.
Bill was the beloved husband of 46 years to Margaret M. “Peg” Volz Gruber.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William and Anna Barrington Gruber.
Bill was the second generation owner and operator of Bill Gruber Plumbing and Heating which is now currently being operated by the third and fourth generation of the family. He was a member of the Automatic Heating Contractors, the Brotherhood of Master Plumbers, and the Philly Masters. In his leisure, Bill enjoyed the casinos and playing Pinochle.
In addition to his beloved wife Peg, Bill is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law Michael Gruber and Michelle, his 4 grandchildren Christopher, Kaleigh, Kevin, and Jayna. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Anne Mockus and Barb Young (Jim), brothers-in-law Jack Volz (Teresa), and Bill Volz (Suzanne), his uncle Bob, his aunts, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill’s family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd St. Phila. PA 19123.
