James Joseph Pitts of Holland passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 82.
James was the beloved husband of 50 years to Helen V. Nelson Pitts who passed away in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jeffrey P. Romani and his siblings, Phillip Pitts and Alease Nelson.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Beulah Pitts Nelson.
James was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 401 for many years and went on to own and operate Holland Fence Company. He enjoyed many things including country music, racing, and boxing. For James, however, family always came first and he will be dearly missed as a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
James is survived by his children, Vanessa Froelich and her partner, Kevin Vachon, Patricia D. Lutz and her husband, Michael J., Marianne Romani, Donna Pitts, and James J. Pitts Jr. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kelli, Joshua, Sean, Caitlin, Gianna, Elena, and Luigi; his great-grandchildren, James, Tiffany, and Justin; his brothers, Edward, Warren, and Overton Nelson; and his sisters Patsy Hakim, Margie Heath, and June Larson, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service 10:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
