Edward R. “Ed” Gallagher of Trevose died peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2016 surrounded by his family at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to his wife, Betty.

Ed was a proud Veteran of the US Navy who served aboard the Destroyer USS Gainard. He worked for many years for Williard, Inc. as a Project Manager. In his leisure, Ed enjoyed cooking, playing golf, gardening, and traveling. Above all he cherished the times he spent with his family creating memories that will last forever. Ed will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and love him.

In addition to his wife Betty, Ed is survived by his children and their spouses Edward Gallagher and Kathie of Humble, TX; Diane Crawford and Glenn of Warminster, PA; Daniel Gallagher and Sarah of North Potomac, MD; and Lynne Sweet and Daniel of Middletown, PA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren; Sam, Carissa, Amanda, Jamie, Duncan, Drew, Stephanie, and Austin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ed’s graveside service at precisely 10:15AM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940 and to the receiving of condolences at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 from 12 noon until his memorial service at 1:00PM. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Tin Can Sailors, P.O. Box 100 Somerset, MA 02726, to the Guardians of the National Cemetery, P.O. Box 233 Newtown, PA 18940 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
