Vincent A. Formica, a 45 year resident of Holland, died peacefully on Sunday February 21, 2016 at Saint Mary’s Medical Center, Langhorne.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of the late Dolores E. Zimmerman Formica for 56 years. He was the son of the late Sylvester and Anna Checchia Formica.

Vince lived in San Diego, CA, Warminster and Holland. He was a graduate of North Catholic High School. Vince attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, and proudly served four years in the Navy. He was a 2-bar Lieutenant in the Korean War and served as a Navigator. After he left the Navy, he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Vince had a lustrous career at the Naval Air Development Center (NADC) in Warminster for 38 years where he jointly invented and was awarded three patents, he retired in 1996.

Vince was a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Parish, Holland. He enjoyed golfing with his wife and many friends at Northampton CC and Neshaminy Valley CC. He also loved watching golf and football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles.

He was a family man. Nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was generous, a wonderful role model, an accomplished but humble man. He will be missed tremendously by his family who loved him so very much.

Vince was the devoted and loving father of Dolores C. “Dee” (Salamone) Chavanon and her husband Pascal, Deborah S. Formica-Anella and her husband Anthony and Vincent L. Formica and his wife Kathleen. He was the loving grandfather of Anthony L. Salamone (Emily), Michael V. Salamone (Nicholl), Danny C. Salamone, Ashley M. Salamone, Christine D. Anella, Ryan A. Anella, Stephen V. Anella, Vincent Formica and Brian Formica.

He was also the Great Grandfather of Giovanna M. Salamone, Anthony L. Salamone, Danny J. Salamone, Rocco A. Salamone and Annabella C. Salamone. Vince is also survived by his brother, Robert Formica.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:30am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
