Joseph F. Riggione Jr., of New Hope, PA died on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was 67.

He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Adelina DeFrancesco Riggione.

Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Sr. and Josephine Mencarelli Riggione.

Joseph graduated from University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Sociology from Indiana State University. He began his professional career working with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he eventually became Director of the Governor’s Task Force on Justice Information Systems. After his time working for the Commonwealth, he spent many years working for Sperry Univac/Unisys and EDS. He later joined KPMG/Bearing Point as a Practice Director for Public Safety and Justice. Joseph later rejoined Unisys as the VP and General Manager of the Global Justice and Public Safety Practice, before eventually starting Riggione Associates where he worked on engagements with the Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET). During his career, Joseph was also awarded, as a co-inventor, a patent for development of a Technology Framework for Data Sharing.

As much pride as Joseph had from his professional accomplishments, and there were many, he genuinely valued his time with family even more. He deeply enjoyed every moment trying to keep up with his 5 grandchildren. He was also an avid reader and movie fan, but most of all he loved being surrounded by family on the holidays.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children Gina Riggione of Poughquag, NY, and Joseph and Jennifer Riggione of Solebury, PA. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren; Corey, Ryan, Brandon, Morgan, and Logan.

Joseph’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and on Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Martin of Tours Church 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope PA 18938 from 10:00 am until his Funeral Liturgy 11:00 AM. His interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made “In Honor of Joseph Riggione” to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Board of Associates, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
