Aloysius J. Garttmeier Jr. of Richboro, PA died peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016, with his family by his side at St. Joseph Manor, Meadowbrook, PA. He was 89.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marie McAnulla Garttmeier.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Aloysius J. Sr. and Nora Mullen Garttmeier and brother of the late Joseph Garttmeier and Anita Garttmeier.
“Mr. G”, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a resident of Richboro for the past 48 years. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School in Philadelphia, Class of 1944 and he also attended St. Joseph College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was employed as an accountant for 25 years and was last employed by Pennsylvania Federal Credit Union before retiring in 1991. In his leisure time after retirement, he learned to play golf and enjoyed being out on the golf course. Family was very important to him and he always enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his four children, Gerald Garttmeier and his wife, Mary Kay, David Garttmeier and his wife, Linda Mullin, Maureen Uhrich and her husband, Kevin, and Paul Garttmeier and his wife, Patti Zukowski. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Scott and Tara Uhrich, Colin and Jacob Garttmeier, Kevin, Shannon and Sean Ladden, and his great grandson, Ian Ladden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. There will be no calling prior to his Mass. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, Mass cards would be appreciated by the family.
