Dr. Joseph R. McQuaite, of Philadelphia formerly of Holland died suddenly on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, of an apparent heart attack at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, NJ. He was 69.

Born in Reading, he was the beloved husband of 49 years to Lenore M. Kobrynski McQuaite. He was the son of the late Melvin and Margaret Dufner McQuaite. He was also predeceased by his 2 sisters and a brother.

Dr. Joe was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Reading, class of 1964 and the Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport Iowa in 1971.  In the interim, he served proudly with the United States Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. Dr. Joe’s practice was in Holland from 1979 until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association, and was on the Board of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Dr. Joe was a former parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church, where he was active in the CYO programs. Joe spent many happy hours collecting stamps and was a focused Philatelist. In his retirement, he loved driving for Sterling Limousine in Newtown.

His grandchildren brought a sparkle to his eyes, especially when he was watching them at their sporting events, and they knew he was in the front row, cheering for them.

In addition to his beloved wife Lenore, he is survived by his devoted children; Dr. Jeffrey T. McQuaite and his wife Maureen, Marc D. McQuaite and his wife Joy and Dr. Kristen P. Doyle and her husband Dr. Don Doyle. He is the proud grandfather of; Colin, Evan, Matthew, Kayla, Justin, Hanlon and Griffin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd. Holland.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of Flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Poor Clares, C/O of the Monastery of St. Clare, 1271 Langhorne-Newtown Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047-1297.
