Diane B. Geddes, of Wycombe, passed away on May 30, 2014 after a long illness with her family by her side at Chandler Hall in Newtown. She was 57.
She was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary A. Haney Keating.
Diane was the beloved wife of James D. Geddes for almost 31 years.
She was a 1975 graduate of Villa Joseph Marie High School. Soon after graduation, she began working at Bucks County Community College as a receptionist and met and married her husband Jim. Diane retired from the college after 36 years of service as a receptionist at the Evening Director’s Office.
She enjoyed crafts and most recently had taken on card making and scrap booking as a hobby.
Although Diane was a quiet, private person, her love and caring for those around her was shown in her unspoken actions and in her soft, compassionate ways. She was always a listening ear, and because of her genuine and sincere concern, people where drawn to her like a magnet. Her children were extremely important to her, and she and her husband worked different shifts so that a parent would always be at home with them.
Education was a necessity to Diane. She would encourage everyone around her to further their studies as much as possible, and was proud of the fact that almost everyone in her family had achieved degrees in higher education. Diane was a beloved to all in her life and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by her children: Kellyann Rogers and her husband Patrick of Pennllyn, James Geddes Jr. and Shannon Geddes, both of Wycombe; her sister: Mary Ann Davis and her husband William of Neshaminy Valley and John Keating of San Francisco; her father and mother-n-law: Lovett and Cora Geddes; her sister-in-law Ann Geddes and her companion Matt Moore; and Jane Busby and her husband Marc; her nieces and nephews: William Davis, Jr. and his wife Melanie, Mary Beth Walinskas and her husband Tim, Matthew Davis and his wife Lindsay, and Sam Busby; great nieces and nephews: Brynn, Colin, and Trevor Davis, and Bridget and T.J. Walinskas; and aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd., Richboro, PA 18954 and on Tuesday from 10:30 am until her Funeral Mass at 11:30 am in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow at Thompson Memorial Cemetery, New Hope.
