Bernard Neal of Warminster died Sunday, January 10, 2016 peacefully in his sleep at the Rose Garden at Ann’s Choice in Warminster. He was 96.
Bernard was the beloved husband of 74 years to Dorothy M. Dickinson Neal.
He was the son of the late Charles and Minnie Fitzgerald and was born in Grimsby, England where he lived and worked until his retirement in 1990 when he and his wife immigrated to the United States to be with his son and family.
Bernard was a long time resident of Bucks County having formerly resided in Holland and Newtown before moving to Ann’s Choice in 2014. He was a Fish Merchant in England throughout his working life and a veteran of World War II, where he served in Africa as a pilot in the Royal Air Force.
Throughout his life, he was an avid fan of English football and in his younger days was a regular player for an amateur team in his hometown. After his retirement, he became a keen golfer.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, Bernard is survived by his son David J. Neal of Holland and his wife Pamela, his grand daughters Sarah McGinnis and Lisa Tice and their husbands Paul McGinnis and Joshua Tice, and his 4 cherished great grandchildren, Natalie, Kate, Norah and Lucas.
Relatives and friends are invited to express their condolences on Thursday, January 14th from 12:00pm until his Funeral Service 1:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Bernard’s interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Ann’s Choice Benevolent Care Fund, 20000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974.
