William T. Peters, of Churchville, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 67.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Jennie Spinosa Peters.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Wanda Kowalewski Peters.

Bill proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. After his marriage, Bill and his family lived in Northeast Philadelphia for 13 years, and then moved to Churchville, where they have resided for almost 30 years. He retired after 40 years of service from Verizon. He began his career as a helper, then an installer, and later secured a position as an Electronic Switching System Technician.

Bill enjoyed being active, he loved to ride his bike and enjoyed being outdoors, especially working on his lawn and proudly tending to his vegetable garden. He was an excellent grandfather and attentive to all of his grandchildren, especially enjoyed being with them at their sporting events.

Although Bill had a fulfilling career and had many hobbies, his first priority was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children: Christina M. Burgmann of Holland and Thomas W. Peters and his wife Gretchen of Feasterville; his sisters: Ceil Duerr of Turnersville, NJ, Charlotte Dougherty of Philadelphia, PA and Gilda Watts of Tampa, FL; and his grandchildren: Tyler, Daniel, Samantha and Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:15am on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940 for Bill’s Prayer Service and Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 210, P O Box 1095 Doylestown, PA 18901. www.vva.org
