Charles T. Amsell of Chalfont died Friday, January 8, 2016 at his residence. He was 81.
Charles was the beloved husband of 56 years to Barbara N. Todd Amsell.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Connie Koenig Amsell.
Charles was a former resident of Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Chalfont in 1973. He was a proud and decorated veteran of the United Sates Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. Charles worked as a Lineman for Bell Telephone for 38 years until his retirement in 1994. In his leisure he enjoyed coaching softball and staying physically fit by exercising at the Doylestown YMCA. Charles was an avid Penn State Fan who would never miss an opportunity to see them play. He will be truly missed by his family and by all who came to know him.
In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, Charles is survived by his children, Loren Amsell of Pittstown, NJ, Amanda Heberton and her husband Bruce of Landenberg, PA and Cynthia Condodina and her husband Dean of West Chester. He is also survived by his sister Diane Amsell and his 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Colton, Haydn and Morgan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:00 AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box, 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
