Beatrice R. Perna of Southampton passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center.
She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen A. Perna.
Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Caniglia Pili. Beatrice was the devoted mother of the late Louie and sister of the late Norma Kaye.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia she graduated from South Philadelphia High School. In the late 1950’s she relocated to Northeast Philadelphia and has been a resident of Southampton since 2001.
Beatrice loved to travel and did so extensively. She was a member of St. Christopher’s seniors and AFC in Southampton. Bea treasured time spent at her home in Longport, NJ with family and friends. She devoted her life to being a caring and loving wife and mother and her family was always paramount. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Beatrice M. “Bunny” Heim and her husband, Bud; her sister-in-law Ray "Dolly" Perna and her sister Philomena Thomas; six grandchildren; Christian, Dawn, Jason, Michael, Shaun and Nicholas and nine great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday January 13, from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. Her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Shrine c/o The St. Jude League, 205 W. Monroe Ave., Chicago, IL 60606 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
