Maryann F. Schwendimann of Levittown died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Statesman Health and Rehabilitation in Levittown. She was 73.
Maryann was the beloved wife of 29 years to the late Fred H. Schwendimann. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Frieda Simon Fitzgerald.
Maryann was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, class of 1960. She was a resident of Levittown for over 64 years and a faithful communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Maryann was a bookkeeper for Thiokol Corp. for over 15 years, she retired in 1979. She found enjoyment doing picture and crossword puzzles, word games and spending time with her dog Ginger. Maryann and her late husband loved to do road trips and spent many happy hours traveling throughout the 48 states. She will be sadly missed.
Maryann is survived by her brothers, James Fitzgerald and his wife Kathy, George Fitzgerald and his wife Pam, Daniel Fitzgerald and his life partner Maureen Jones. She is also survived by her step daughter Judy Ryba and her husband Rick, and 2 step grandchildren; Alyssa and Matthew, and a sister –in-law Sandra Fitzgerald. Maryann is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and her constant nurse and care giver Kim Manna.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, January 11th from 9:00 am until her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19054. Maryann’s interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to American Heart Association 5455 N. High St. Columbus Ohio 43214.
