Shirley T. Harvey of Devon, PA passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 77.
She and her husband William E. Harvey met at the Paulsboro, NJ refinery of Mobil Oil Corporation in 1956 and have been married for 58 years.
Born in Woodbury, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Murray Todd and mother of the late William T. Harvey and infant Michael Harvey.
Mrs. Harvey was a resident of Devon since 2006. She formerly lived in Washington Crossing, PA from 1985 to 2006 and prior to that she was a resident of East Windsor Township, NJ for 22 years. She graduated from Pitman High School, Class of 1956. Along with her husband and son William, she lived in Genoa, Italy for 4 years and was the secretary of the American Women’s Club of Genoa. Her parents emigrated from Scotland, and she was proud to be first generation American. Shirley was talented at decorating her home, an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with close friends of many years and volunteered at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, P.A. She also loved vacationing with her family in Ocean City, N.J., Hilton Head Island, S.C. and Tucson, AZ.
In addition to her beloved husband William, she is survived by her two sons, Steven E. Harvey and his wife Sheila of Charleston, S.C., Christopher M. Harvey and his wife Michele of Devon, PA, and daughter-in-law Kathleen D. Harvey of New Hope, PA. She is also survived by her 8 loving grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Christopher, Brian, Connor, Caity, William and Elizabeth, her sister, Joanne Green, and nieces, Pam Chiaradia and Lori Bedinghaus, and nephews, Douglas Green and the late Gerry Deffler.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 16, 2016, from 12:00PM until her memorial service at 1:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Internment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Penn Wissahickon Hospice Friends Fund, C/O Penn Medicine Development, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Phila., PA 19104.
