James J. O’Neill, Jr., of Doylestown passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at his residence.  His loving wife and family were by his side.

James was the beloved husband of Joanne M. Zinchak O’Neill.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Florence Mulholland O’Neill and the late James J. O’Neill.

James was a Carpenter by trade and most recently served as the General Superintendent for Lendlease (Lehrer McGovern) until his retirement in 2012.   Some of the signature projects Jim delivered were the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino and Trump Marina in Atlantic City, NJ and The New Jersey State Aquarium.  He spent 15+ years as the Lead General Superintendent at the Merck West Point, Pa Campus and concluded his career with the delivery of the Trump Taj Mahal Chairman’s Tower in Atlantic City and the closeout of the New Jersey State Lab Building in Trenton.  He was a signature leader and was responsible for the development of many of the company’s current leaders.  His legacy of, professionalism, leadership, and friendship will not soon be forgotten.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was always proud that his profession was also his passion.  He was never far from a project, be it one of his own or one for a friend or neighbor.  He loved spending time at his mountain home in Susquehanna County, PA which was a retreat and place of peace for him.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his loving children, Linda Gilroy (Donald) of Royersford, James Joseph O’Neill (Jennifer Musser) of Ephrata, PA, and Melissa O’Neill (Wayne Kegerise) of Southampton.  He also leaves behind his brother, Robert O’Neill (Theresa) and his sister Kathleen Bennington (Lou); and his grandchildren, Kevin Gilroy and Dennis James O’Neill-Musser.  Last but certainly not least, he will be dearly missed by his beloved companion, his black lab, Moose.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Tuesday December 8, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), and on Wednesday December 9, 2015 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.  His interment will be private.
