Edward F. Garry of Holland, PA died peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015, at Neshaminy Manor Home, Warrington. He was 73.
He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Muzyk) Garry for 52 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Kelly) Garry and grandfather of the late Casey McAdams and Gordon Sawaya.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Edward J. Garry and his wife, Kimberly (Sweeney), of Quakertown, his daughter, Kristine M. Sawaya of Newtown, his son-in-law, Thomas Sawaya, his two brothers, Thomas Garry and his wife, Judy, of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Stephen Garry of Willow Grove, PA and his sister, Marie Garry of Florida. He is also survived by his 6 loving grandchildren; Matthew, Kayleigh, Jacqueline, Shannon, Eric and Rebekah.
Mr. Garry was a resident of Holland for 38 years before moving to Warrington three years ago. He graduated from LaSalle College after working full time and attending 10 years in the evening division with his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Before his retirement in 1999, he was employed as a procurement strategist for 39 years with Rohm & Haas Company. He was both past president and treasurer of Rohm & Haas Credit Union. Mr. Garry was actively involved in his community and throughout the years he served as past president, treasurer and lieutenant for Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Company. For many years, he was a reenactor for Washington Crossing the Delaware River on Christmas Day. In his leisure time, Mr. Garry was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing softball as a member of Windmill Village 4 Team. Family was very important to him and he always enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Don’t Camouflage Bullying Inc., 172 N. Elm Avenue, Newtown, PA 18940.
