Marjorie Libby Callender of Langhorne and Wrighter's Lake, PA, died peacefully Monday, November 30, 2015, at her home in Langhorne. She was 82.
Born September 20, 1933 in Brockton, Massachusetts, She was the daughter of the late Rita and John Libby, the devoted wife of the late Jack K Callender, Sr,
Marjorie was a resident of Middletown Township for 54 years. She was a member of the Langhorne United Methodist Church, Wrighter’s Lake Association, and Four Lanes Garden Club. She was a descendant and a lifetime member of the John Libby Family Association, Portland, Maine.
She believed in giving back to the community and volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels, as a Chaplain's Assistant at the Buck's County Hospital, and as a Sunday School Teacher, and served on church committees, the Maple Point booster club, and the Langhorne Christmas Garden tour to name a few.
She had varied interests, including gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles, cooking, decorating, bridge, history and current events, and all Philly and local sports, especially those participated in by a family member. She personified the term "Yankee," she always persevered, was self-reliant and possessed great ingenuity. She was truly committed to those she loved including her dogs.
