Charles H. Hiller, of New Hope passed away on Thursday November 19, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was 91.

He was the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Mary C. Devenney Hiller and father of the late Deborah D. Hiller.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Phillip and Minnie Carcher Hiller.

Raised in Philadelphia Charles graduated from St. Boniface grade school and Northeast Catholic High School and went on to serve proudly with the United States Army during World War II during which time he was awarded a Purple Heart. Following his military service he went on to earn Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Temple University.

Charles was employed with the City of Philadelphia before serving as CFO for Rice and & Holman Ford where he worked for 25 years and was promoted to assistant general manager. He later did consulting work all around the automotive industry before moving on to Springfield Ford, from where he retired.

Along with his wife, Charles was a long time parishioner of St. Jerome’s in Philadelphia before relocating to New Hope in 1992. Together they travelled extensively and enjoyed retirement to the fullest.

Charles’ positivity, zest for life, and love and devotion to for his family is what kept him going for his 91 years. He will be greatly missed, however always remembered as a great man, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Surviving are Charles’ children, Charles P. Hiller and his wife Karen of Cape May, NJ, Dennis F. Hiller and his wife Mary Pennsauken NJ, and Mary K. Christian and her husband Gary of Warrington PA. He also leaves behind his 11 dear Grandchildren; Chuck, Kelly, Tricia, Dennis, Dolores, Kathleen, Christina, Rachael, Sarah, Mary Beth, and Colleen and eight Great Grandchildren; Madison, Cadence, Charlie, Andrew, Emily, Ryan, Justin and Joseph.

In addition to his wife, parents, and daughter, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip and Francis Hiller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Jerome Church 8100 Colfax St. Philadelphia. His interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

In lieu of flowers contributions donations in Charles’ name may be made to Father Judge High School, In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Father Judge High School, 3301 Solly Ave., Phila., 19136.
