Marguerite “Marge” Hunsberger Carey passed on Thursday, November 5, 2015 while a patient at the Twining Village Health Care Facility in Holland.

Marge was the beloved wife of the late Robert Carey.

Born in Philadelphia, Marge was the daughter of the late Irvin Moyer and Marguerite Taylor Hunsberger and was preceded in death by her son Robert Carey, Jr., her sister Hilda Mills (Stanley), her brothers Russell Hunsberger (Doris) and Forrest Hunsberger (Lois) and her grandson Scott Moyer.

She graduated from first grade at the Wesley Ave. School, Ocean City, NJ in June 1928. She graduated from Upper Southampton High School in 1939 completing the Commercial Course requirements.

While employed as a secretary at the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation (later to become Johnsville Naval Air Development Center) in the early 1940’s Marge met her husband, to be, Robert (Bob) Carey. They were married March 4, 1944. Within a few months Bob was drafted into the Army Infantry and spent one and a half years in Germany. While Bob was in Germany their son, Robert Carey, Jr. was born. As it was for many during WWII, this was a very difficult time for the newly married couple.

In 1959 Marge and her family moved to Churchville. Although the Careys lived in numerous homes, the Churchville home was Marge’s favorite.

It wasn’t until many years later, when her children were young adults that Marge decided to return to the work force. She started working at Bucks County Community College as a secretary in the late sixties and retired in 1982. During her employment with the college, Marge was secretary for various positions that included; the Director of Placement, Director of Human Resources, Assistant Director of Admissions and lastly the President. The happiest years of Marge’s life were while she lived in her Churchville home and was employed at Bucks County Community College. While employed at Bucks County Community College Marge made many life long friends.

Marge is survived by; daughter, Christine Moyer, granddaughters; Rebecca Leader (Jeff), Laura Russell (Jason) and Jennifer Macfarlan (Dan), grandson; Robert Carey (Jennifer), and by eight great grandchildren; Emily, Claire, Kaylynn, Kilee, Robert, Cheyenne, Mitchell and Samuel.
