Barbara A. Bucknum of Holland, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 79.

She was the beloved wife of late Walter F. Bucknum with whom she had shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Agnes Falkenberg Dockter.

Mrs. Bucknum was a resident of Holland for the past 49 years. She graduated from Villa Victoria Academy in Ewing Township, NJ, Class of 1952 and went on to complete her Associate Degree in Business Administration from Drexel University, Class of 1954. For 20 years she served as Tax Collector of Northampton Township until the end of her term in 2013. She was a former Recording Secretary of the Bucks County Tax Collectors Association, a member of the Pennsylvania State Tax Collectors Association, and served as Secretary for the Northampton Township Republican Committee for many years.

She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed many types of crafts, including cake decorating and candy making. In addition, she was a talented artist, an avid reader, and liked to crochet. She loved to travel with her late husband and children, and enjoyed attending musical theater productions in New York City.

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her six children, David Bucknum and his wife, Mary, of Washington, DC; Mary Kern and her husband, Robert, of Waymart, PA; Michael Bucknum and his wife, Kathy Shen, of Oceanside, CA; Paul Bucknum of Holland; Susan Bucknum of Enola, PA; and John Bucknum and his wife, Diane, of Evans City, PA. She is also survived by her eight loving granddaughters, Jennifer and Laura Kern; Katharina, Annamarie, Taylor, Kiley, Sydney, and Sophia Bucknum.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Friday evening, June 13, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday morning, June 14, from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
