John J. Lynch Jr. of Langhorne, PA died peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at his residence with his wife and son by his side. He was 72.
He was the beloved husband of Sandra B. Alker Lynch for 44 years.
Born in Dover, New Jersey, he was the son of the late John J. Sr. and Annette T. Coogan Lynch and brother of the late Daniel E. Lynch.
John was a resident of Langhorne for the past 29 years. He went to grammar school at St. Athanasius School in Philadelphia and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1961. Following high school he attended the Wharton School of Business, B.S. Accounting program at Phila. College of Textiles & Sciences and received his bachelor’s degree in Mgmt/Info Systems from Eastern University in St. Davids, PA, Class of 2001. John began a long career in computer information systems with Conrail, was Director of MIS for Pantry Pride accounting and financial systems in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Before his retirement in 2007, he was employed as a Sr. Systems Analyst with Merck & Co. for 10 years. While attending school and working, he was proud to serve as a U.S. Air Force reservist and was promoted to Staff Sergeant before his discharge. He enjoyed following and debating politics and was an avid tennis player while in Florida. His Catholic faith was an integral part of his life. He was a faithful communicant of the Church of Saint Andrew in Newtown where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for seven years. He will be sadly missed as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Brian M. Lynch of Langhorne, his three brothers, Richard L. Lynch of Langhorne, Kevin C. Lynch and his wife, Diane, of North Wales, Thomas J. Lynch Sr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Philadelphia and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Lynch of Langhorne. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 1 great nephew and 2 great nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at the Church of Saint Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
