Robert J. Rodgers Jr. of Warrington and formerly of Richboro died peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 86.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Colyar Rodgers and brother of the late James P. Rodgers.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Robert J., Sr. and Anna Maguire Rodgers.
A 1947 graduate of North Catholic High School, Bob went on to work for his grandfather’s candy store and gas station before later leading a long and successful career in Insurance where he was employed with Prudential and John Hancock, retiring in 1991.
Bob loved to dance, and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan, and dedicated much of his time to the game of softball which he loved not only playing but also coaching and managing and up until recently he was serving as manager of the Newtown Renegades and the Philadelphia Royals.
Above all else he will be remembered by his family for his quick wit and devotion to his family. He will be dearly missed.
Robert is survived by his children and their spouses; Robert J. Rodgers III and his wife, Rosemary E., Kathleen A. Nocero and her husband, James, Lorraine P. Jann and her husband, Robert, William J. Rodgers and his wife, Annette, and Francis E. Rodgers and his wife, Carol Ann. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicole Dillman, Dana Saunders, James and Michael Daulerio, Donna Vogel, Eileen Michalski, Brittany Imperiale, Bailey, Briana, Brookann Rodgers, Frances E. Jr., Danielle C. and Kevin R. Rodgers; his ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Schmidt and her husband, Robert; and his companion Dorothy Cantwell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, October 30th from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to St. Bede the Venerable Church at the above address.
