Kathleen R. Whitney (nee Walsh) of Newtown and formerly of Upper Southampton passed away on Friday October 23, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 86.
She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Leon D. Whitney Sr.
Born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine McLaughlin Walsh.
Kathleen will be remembered for her steadfast devotion to her faith and her family. She was an active and dedicated parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Newtown where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was extremely devoted to the Blessed Mother who for her was the cornerstone of her Catholic faith.
Surviving are her loving children; Barbara L. Vesey and her husband Edward of Chalfont, Michael K. Whitney and his wife Linda of Upper Southampton, Donna L. Bancroft and her husband Jeffrey of Warwick, Lee D. Whitney of Newtown, and Christopher D. Whitney of Newtown. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann Bush and her husband Mark, of Stuart, FL and Dorothy Schnupp of King of Prussia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, from 10:30 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:30 AM at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Church of St. Andrew at the address above.
