Thomas A. Fenning passed away on Monday June 9, 2014 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving family. He was 93.
He was the husband of the late Mercedes E. Berry Fenning.
Born in Philadelphia, Thomas was a son of the late John J. and Mary Anderson Fenning.
A World War II veteran, he proudly served in the US Navy on theU.S.S. Cocopa. Along with his wife, Thomas lived and raised his family in Feasterville for over 45 years and spent the last 13 years residing in Doylestown.
He enjoyed spending his time volunteering at Bucks County Community College, where he took many classes in Language and Writing. In later years he volunteered at local elementary schools sharing his love of poetry and writing.
Thomas is survived by his children, Donna Cunningham (James), Denise Fitzpatrick (John), Geri DeHaven (David), Jeanine Stoneback and Timothy Fenning. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday June 13, 2014 from 10 AM until his funeral mass 11 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Thomas’ name to St. Joseph’s Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, PA 19031-1802.
His family also wishes to thank the staff at Care Alternatives Hospice for the care of their father and support of their family.
