Mary D. Angelillo Martino, 93 years young, a former resident of Holland, PA for 55 years, died peacefully at her home in Wrightstown, PA on October 13, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in South Philadelphia, on January 8, 1922, to the late Carmello and Assunta Angelillo. She married the late Pasquale C. Martino on October 23, 1948 and had 58 wonderful years together. She was sister of the late Joseph Angelillo, Jean Gannone and Alfred Gannone (brother-in-law), Rose Angelillo (sister-in-law). Mary was the devoted mother of the recently departed James P. Martino, her youngest son.
Mary lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gerald Yerkes, for the past two years in Wrightstown, PA. She was a parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Parish. Mary believed that family came first as a caring and devoted mother to four children and a fun loving grandmother and great grandmother. She looked forward to the holidays with the family, especially in the kitchen where she loved to make pasta and meatballs. Mary always looked forward to the summer months going to Wildwood, NJ, watching the Phillies and golfing. In her free time, Mary served as a greeter at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Southampton. Additionally, she liked being a part of the Good Counsel Seniors and most recently loved going to Chandler Hall Adult Daycare. Mary was always known for her great style and fashion sense because she was always dressed to impress.
Mary is survived by her caring and devoted children; Linda Yerkes and her husband Gerald, Charles P. Martino and his wife Barbara, Michael Martino, her daughter-in-law Karen Martino, her brother Philip Angelillo. She is also survived by her eight dear grandchildren; Danielle Nucero and her husband Michael, Nicholas, Lauren, Matthew, Christopher, Michael, Angelica, and Alessandra Martino. She is survived by her four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Julia, Joseph and Gianna Nucero.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loving family. Mary’s family would like to thank Dr. Jason Estrin for the compassionate care that he provided through the years.
