Jacqueline T. Casey of Churchville, PA died unexpectedly following a brief illness on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at her residence. She was 72.
She was the beloved wife of Lawrence J. Casey with whom she had just celebrated 50 years of marriage in June of this year.
Born in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor J. Sawicki (nee Matczak).
Jackie was a graduate of Frankford High School. She later was employed with Sears where she met her husband, Larry. They began their life in Northeast Philadelphia before relocating to Richboro, Bucks County in 1976.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Jackie was so very dedicated to her family. She treasured time visiting them and traveling, whether it was with her daughter and her family in California, spending time at the shore, or with those close by, she always made time to be with them and loved every minute of it. Despite being an only child, Jackie came to cherish the holidays with her big family, most especially Christmas.
She was a faithful parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, who enjoyed Novena, and along with her husband had devoted time to volunteering with various church groups.
She fought her illness with great fervor and bravery. Above all else she will be remembered for her kind heart and her generous spirit, especially the concern she continued to showed for others as her illness progressed. She will be dearly missed.
Jackie enjoyed simple pleasures like playing Scrabble, enjoying a sunrise or sunset on the deck, testing her knowledge while watching “Jeopardy”, a glass of wine and a good conversation, or just quietly holding her infant grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her three children, Lawrence J. Casey and his wife, Nancy, of Woodstown, NJ, Brian J. Casey and his wife, Heidi, of Limerick, PA and Colleen M. Shariat and her husband, Far, of Los Feliz, CA. She is also survived by her seven loving grandchildren, Meghan, Kevin, Kathleen, Liam, Jessica, Annabelle and Kayvan.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, http://www.lls.org; 888-557-7177.
"Sing and make music in your hearts, always giving thanks to the Father for everything.” -Jacqueline T. Casey (A handwritten note found amongst her personal belongings)
