LeRoy D. Gruber of Washington Crossing died peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015, surrounded by his family at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 71.

Born in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Roy was the beloved husband for 39 years of Lynn M. Breen Gruber, and son of the late Eugene and Mildred Brennan Gruber. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Kathy Gruber and Barb Caprio. He was the son-in-law of the late Edward D. Breen, Sr.

Roy was a resident of Richboro for 21 years before moving to Washington Crossing in 2004. He was a graduate of Central High School, Philadelphia. He attended Penn State University and received his degree in Business Administration from Clarion University.

Roy worked in medical product sales and retired from Cardinal Health in 2004, after 38 years.

He was a proud member of the United States Coast Guard, serving in Vietnam, and was a member of American Legion Post #0317, Yardley. Roy gave his time and talents to New Life Christian Church in Newtown, where he also sang in the choir.

Family came first and foremost to Roy and he loved watching sports with them, as well as playing a round of golf with friends. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving family.

In addition to his beloved wife Lynn, Roy is also survived by his son; Chris Gruber and his girlfriend Whitney Earnhardt, and his daughter; Cherie Lynne Kooker and her husband Ty. Roy was the proud grandfather of DeVeaux, Knisley and Gruber. He is also survived by 9 siblings; John (Shirley), Gene (Dot), Ann, Elizabeth, Sue (Jim), Hank (Anna), Bill (Grace), Ralph (Laurie), and Carl (Sandy). Roy is also survived by his mother-in-law Anna H. Breen, his brother-in-law and sister-in law Edward D. Breen, Jr and his wife Lynn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy’s family would like to especially thank Dr. Andrew Solis and Dr. Steven Mazlin and Spring Village for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided Roy during his illness.

Roy's family will receive condolences on Saturday September 26, from 9:30 am until his Memorial Service 11:00am at New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Drive, Newtown, with Dr. Norman J. Leve officiating. A private burial will take place at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, with full military honors.
