John J. Novak, a 31 year resident of Southampton died peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington.
He was 90.

Born in Philadelphia, John was the beloved husband of Helen L. Makarski Novak and son of the late John B. and Amelia Novak and father of the late Leah Novak.
John was a graduate of North Catholic High School.

He was a decorated and proud Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force having served during World War II and receiving commendations for his meritorious service, as a radar operator while flying in B-29 on a mission over Japan.

After the service John worked for Masland Duraleather for 35 years as a purchasing manager, after his retirement and wanting to keep busy he went to work for Asplundh Company in their purchasing department for 5 years.

John enjoyed golf, doing crossword puzzles in pen, going to the shore with family, listening to Philadelphia sports radio and playing with his Shih Tzu dogs.

In addition to his beloved wife Helen, John is survived by his devoted children, Karla Angelucci and her husband Robert J.,
and Audrey Sedenka and her husband Allen. He is also survived by his 3 dear grandchildren of Jeffrey Angelucci (Gina), Leah Zgalich (Paul), Laura Angelucci, and 3 great grandchildren Danica Zgalich, Dante and Kristian Angelucci.

John’s family will receive condolences on Saturday November 8, 2014 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 2nd Street Pike and Knowles Ave. Southampton. Interment will be private.
