Salvatore J. Alessi of Audubon and formerly a long time Chalfont and Hilltown resident, passed away on Friday July 31, 2015 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. He was 88.
Born in Philadelphia, Salvatore was the son of the late Francisco and Margaret Alessi, and the beloved husband of the late Catherine L. Pallone Alessi and father of the late Margaret E. Alessi.
Salvatore attended South Philadelphia High School for 3 years before enlisting in the United States Army, proudly serving in the 25th Quartermaster Company, as a Supply Clerk, during WW II in the Pacific Theater, receiving several awards for his service. After his Honorable discharge from the Army he worked as a Medical Technician, he reenlisted into the U S Marine Corps in 1950 and served in both active and reserve duty.
Salvatore’s professional career spanned over 35 years working for Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals, as a Medical Laboratory Technician. He was a former communicant of Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, North Wales and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Hilltown. He loved working in his garden, taking pride in his fig trees, going deep sea fishing with family and friends and reading. Family came first and foremost; his children and grandchildren brought a sparkle to his eye. He will be sadly missed by his loving and supportive family.
