James J. Hampson, Jr., of Doylestown, passed away on July 18, 2015 at Christ Home in Warminster.

Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late James J. Hampson Sr., and the late Marguerite Boyle Hampson and brother of the late Frances Bauer.

James was a graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia and went on to serve proudly with the United States Army as a data processor during World War II. His military training in data processing led to a long career in the field with the Royston Corporation and then for Sylvan Pools, from where he retired in 1991.

James is survived by his children, Marguerite Rybar of Plumsteadville, Helen Warhola Tolby of Levittown, James J. Hampson III and his wife, Maja, of Chalfont and Patrick B. Hampson and his wife, Linda, of Downingtown and brother of Mary Friend of Media, PA. He also leaves behind his nine adoring grandchildren; Kerry, Marc, Jennie, Brianna, Alex, Michael, Ashley, Brian, and Matt, and four great-grandchildren Johnathan, Juliana, Téa Jean and Scotlyn Paige and his former wife, Dolores Noel.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 9:00AM until his Funeral Mass 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. His interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
